Inner Work For the week of: May 5, 2003 The Boundaries of Awareness The source of the spiritual lies hidden beyond our consciousness. In meditation we can become explorers of the inner world, seeking to discover the limits of
our awareness and the realms outside those limits. Beneath our sensory perceptions, beneath our thoughts and emotions, we find the pure awareness of consciousness.
Delving beneath the stillness of
consciousness itself, through a combined emptying of ourselves and reaching
beyond, we can open to a deeper source, to a potent energy, to the Heart of
hearts. And our exploration need not end there, but can lead us toward Ultimate.
The key to all this rests in our attitude. Can we bring our commitment,
interest, investigation, and explorer’s mind
to bear in seeking a more profound understanding and experience,
through plumbing the depths within the silence?
