Merging Presence

(The Practice of Divine Presence: 3)

Practicing contact with our own presence, while also in contact with the presence in everything and everyone all around us, opens us to the world of presence, the world of global presence. We are surrounded, permeated, and embraced by this global presence, a fundamentally kind and loving embrace. The more often we open to and enter this underlying essence of all that is, the more vivid it becomes. In those moments we can let go of the walls that enclose us and define us. In those moments we come to live in the global presence and to love it.

This love, awakened by the seamless, boundless, and vast field of presence that enfolds us, is our homecoming. This love is unity. In this global presence, unity is fact, for there is no longer any separation. We have emerged from separation into the One Presence of all that is, the One Presence that includes us.

This is not a matter of intentionally and actively combining our own presence with the presence all around us. It is simply dropping our stance of separateness, dropping our self-definitions, our self-creating defenses, dropping our own perspective, to stand in the whole, to feel as the whole, to see from the whole, and to be the whole.

For this week, let yourself merge into the One Presence.
